Sandy Creek Bluegrass Band

The Sandy Creek bluegrass band was formed in 1975 and immediately realized incredible success. Performing at packed Omaha, Lincoln, and Midwest venues, the band was a rock-solid, five-man bluegrass ensemble, offering great harmony and solid picking. Now 35 years later, the Sandy Creek bluegrass band has evolved into a cohesive, six-man bluegrass band.

Featuring flawless twin fiddles, contest winning guitar picking, foot stomping banjo, Dobro, mandolin, and the same high lonesome harmonies. They smoothly deliver all the new and old bluegrass favorites in such a relaxed fashion you'll feel like they are jamming in your living room.

All of the band members have been bluegrass musicians throughout their careers and never depart from that core sensibility. But like the earliest icons, they also push the bluegrass envelope.

Featuring –

JOHN PAUL – Bass, Vocals

John is one of the founding members of the Sandy Creek Pickers. He plays Bass and sings lead and harmony vocals. John started taking guitar lessons at age 8 which launched a career of making great music spanning many genres. Whether he's playing drums on Rock and Country songs, Bass on Bluegrass tunes, singing with his high tenor voice, John is considered one of the best musicians around.

MIKE PAUL – Banjo

Mike found a 4-string banjo in his grandparents’ attic that his uncle had left behind many years prior. He started playing banjo at the young age of 8.

GARY PAUL – Guitar, Dobro, Vocals

DAVE BLAKESLEE – Mandolin, Vocals

Dave plays mandolin, fiddle, and sings lead and harmony vocals. Raised by a Classical pianist mother

and a jazz enthusiast father, Dave was slinging drumsticks at age 4, keeping time to Big Band Swing and Dixieland. As a teenager he lost interest in trumpet and began playing guitar and mandolin.

JASON SHAW – Guitar, Fiddle, Vocals

Jason plays fiddle, guitar, and even mandolin on occasion. He is an accomplished musician that has played nearly all of his life starting with fiddle at the age of 4.
